Sjoerd Tunissen
Sjoerd Tunissen is a PhD candidate at the Department of Medical Imaging at Radboud University Medical Center, and an Advanced X-ray Tomographic Imaging (AXTI) lab team member.
He graduated in January 2020, when he obtained his MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Technology in Eindhoven. His thesis was on the compensation of heartbeat and breathing induced eye movement during robotic eye surgery using in-eye OCT measurements. After graduating, he started his PhD in the AXTI lab in February 2020. His research is mainly on image processing of 4D perfusion CT images, especially on optimizing algorithms and processing techniques in order to improve image quality and reduce radiation dose for patient benefit. This work is done within the FILTER project and supervised by Ioannis Sechopoulos.
