PhD candidate

Hanne Vries is a PhD candidate at both the Department of Medical Imaging and Department of Plastic Surgery at Radboud University Medical Center, and Advanced X-ray Tomographic Imaging Group (AXTI) lab team member.

She studied Biomedical Engineering at the University of Twente in Enschede, with her main interest in Imaging. She graduated in May 2023 when she obtained her MSc degree in Biomedical Engineering with her thesis ‘An explainable machine learning model to diagnose giant cell arteritis based on radiomic features in aortic [18F]FDG-PET images’. After graduating, she started her PhD in the AXTI lab in October 2023 under the supervision of Ioannis Sechopoulos, Stefan Hummelink and Brigitte van der Heijden. Her research project is part of the DYNAMIC study, which aims to contribute to a non-invasive analysis of wrist kinematics by four-dimensional CT scanning to improve diagnosis of wrist injuries.
