Franziska Mauter
Franziska Mauter is an external PhD candidate from the German national metrological Institute PTB in Braunschweig and is affiliated to the Advanced X-ray Tomographic Imaging ( AXTI ) group led by Ioannis Sechopoulos as part of the department of Radiology and Nuclear medicine at the Radboud university medical center. Before completing her master's degree in “Experimental and clinical neurosciences” at the University of Regensburg (Germany), she did her bachelor’s degree in Physics. For her master thesis on “Structural white matter integrity in children at risk for developmental dyslexia” she conducted research at the MR-center of the Psychiatric University Hospital Zurich, Switzerland, using the technique of Diffusion Weighted Magnetic Resonance Imaging. In July 2020 she started her PhD thesis on the topic of “Machine Learning for Medical Imaging”, focusing on the assessment of image quality in mammography using deep learning methods under the supervision of Ioannis Sechopoulos (RadboudUMC), Ruben van Engen (LRCB) and Mathias Anton (PTB).
